Wow – it has been a while!
BUT, I am back to have a quick chat about a few items that I am loving right now. Here is the rundown!
Tarte’s Lights, Camera FLASHES Mascara – I like a mascara that adds length and volume, but also one that separates the lashes. This one does the trick. The applicator is plastic, with long bristles…so, be careful with getting too close to your waterline. You will poke yourself in the eye…I did it many times before I got the hang of it! I love the look this mascara creates and it also doesn’t melt off and give me raccoon eyes by the end of a long day. Yay.
Dr. Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Serum – I am all about a good serum. Read Caroline Hiron’s Blog and watch her YouTube channel, then you will understand. This serum feels so soothing on the skin and really helps calm any redness or irritation. It also helps in the dreaded lines and wrinkles area – never too early to start fighting those! I apply after a double cleanse (one to remove make up, one to actually clean your skin) and an acid toner, but before moisturizing. It does have a very earthy smell (as do many Origins products) – so may be worth giving it a test at Sephora before you dive in. I like the smell, but I could see some thinking it is a bit much.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush – I was on the market for a new blush after my beloved NARS Orgasm was all finished up, and I had heard really great things about Hourglass products. They are pricey – BUT, I have to say the texture of this blush is like no other I have tried. When I say silky smooth I really mean it. I am using the shade Luminous Flush and loving it, a really beautiful but subtle color.
Pixi Glow Tonic – This is a 5% Glycolic Acid toner and is such good value for money in this arena of skincare. You can spend a lot of money on acid toners, but I really think this one preforms great at a more reasonable price. This is a great exfoliator and leaves my skin feeling totally fresh and happy. You will be shocked when even after a double cleanse you will still have dirt/makeup on a cotton pad after using this! And even better – Pixi products are available at one of my favorite stores, Target.
Hoola by Benefit – I know I am totally late to the game on this one. I resisted it for a long time, but once I tried it I have to admit that it really is great. This totally matte bronzer provides a little color and contour along with that just off the beach glow. I always thought I wanted shimmer in my bronzer…but this has changed my mind. It doesn’t look fake even on us very pale, Irish girls! Still not sure? Try out the travel size. It is cheaper but still provides plenty of product. You can find it near the register at Sephora or online. Your welcome.
Maybelline FIT ME Concealer – I have to say I have never been able to find a drugstore concealer that covered my dark circles – until now. This range from Maybelline has really great coverage in a nice creamy consistency that actually blends. I had always felt that drugstore concealers were usually too dry causing creasing under the eyes, but I am happy to say this one doesn’t do that. For reference, I wear the shade 10 – Light. At the affordable price you really can’t go wrong!
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – I received this sample with a Sephora order and it is definitely one of the best freebies I have gotten from them to date. On these hot summer days this spray (which you spritz all over your face once your makeup is done) really helps your makeup stay put and last throughout the day. I will say that I think this is a bit expensive (There is a much more affordable one from NYX Cosmetics that I am going to try out…will report back) but I do feel it does a great job. You spend time doing your makeup, so help it stay on your face!
Hope you found this helpful, look out for some more posts coming up soon!
