For all of you who are almost anywhere on the east coast right now – like me here on Long Island – you are experiencing a MAJOR winter storm. We have close to two feet of snow and it is still coming down. CRAZY. So, after some shoveling and getting a pot of Pork and Beef Ragu simmering on the stove (to be served over some fabulous egg pappardelle!) I decided to give myself a little pamper evening. I have incorporated some of the products I am loving – here is a quick rundown!
I love to take baths and very luckily I have a gorgeous antique clawfoot tub in my bathroom. I am a HUGE fan of all things LUSH and the great handmade products they come up with. Their bath bombs are the bomb (that was awful, but I couldn’t help myself). Tonight I ran my bath and popped in their Sex Bomb which makes the water a gorgeous pink color, smells like jasmine and leaves my skin so soft. Last weekend while I was lounging in the tub soaking with a Yoga Bomb and watching YouTube videos, my wonderful husband came into the bathroom with a little wood cross-tub table that he quickly put together in the garage for me. It is perfect to rest my iPad on, a candle and something to drink while I relax. YES ladies – find a man that is handy…it’s the best thing ever 🙂 !
Tonight I was further spoiled in that I not only had my iPad ready on my little table to watch some of my favorite YouTube peeps (Them, her, him) with one of my favorite scented candles – I was also delivered a freshly shaken Kettle One Dirty Martini with jalapeño and blue cheese stuffed olives to enjoy during my soak. He is the best, I know.
Prior to hopping in the tub I put on the Origins Clear Improvement Mask. I generally have pretty clear skin, but have always struggled with blackheads on my nose and chin. This mask seems to help draw out some of the impurities and leaves my skin soft and clean. At the very end of my bath I used the Ocean Salt Scrub on my arms and legs to leave my skin extra smooth and exfoliated. I haven’t tried this yet on my face but I plan to do so soon…and it smells like a margarita. What could be better!
After my bath I washed off the face mask and applied the Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Advanced Face Serum. It really sets and calms my skin. I have been really trying to follow a skincare routine in line with what Caroline Hirons would recommend – so, a good serum is a necessity!
I hope you all are enjoying some quality time at home during this storm! Eat, drink and be happy!
